post a google maps satellite picture of the neighborhood where you grew up
Here's mine - Seneca Falls, NY.
It's making me homesick.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=seneca+falls,ny&ll=42.919657,-76.795152&spn=0.005547,0.007703&t=k&hl=en

I can see the woods behind the neighbor's house where we used to go play Truth or Dare...
I can trace my walk to school, and the lawn we used to cut through (with the cranky guy who would yell "hey kids! get off my lawn!")

I see the gully in front of my best friend's house where we used to do stupid things with our bikes and ramps...

I see the football bleachers where we'd climb fences on Saturday mornings after games to go look for change that fell out of people's pockets ( I found a dollar bill once!).

I see the woods behind the high school where my friends and I would go to catch garter snakes.

I see Tom Dalton's house. Jennifer A. and Jennifer M. and I all had crushes on him (he was a bad boy) and we'd ride our bikes past his house at least once a week in 5th grade.

I see the supermarket where Gloria and I would buy Diet Coke, popcorn and Betty Crocker frosting for our sleepovers.

Wow. Crazy memories.

Ahh, the days we used to spend, throwing dirty chunks of ice at each other and playing in the running streams. It was a tad chilly, but my heart warms just thinking back to those days.

;)

29. Grannis is on the west side of the Ouachita National Forest/Mountains.
Beautiful country down there. Within 5 years, there will be an interstate sailing over the top of it, just like they did in the Ozarks.

Unfortunately, it's not a high-res map.

The house is just above the green rectangle (school yard) in dead center.

but here's where I live now: (Damn I need to mow!!)

and here's where I teach. Note the pristine athletic facilities. Just to the NE of the field is an indoor football facility. Glad to see our priorities are in order.

No, I can't find my parents' house on here --or many houses for that matter. (There aren't very many, really.)
