Worst baseball broadcaster.
Rick Suttclife may be the worst ever. Boring, takes 25 minutes to explain split-finger, sounds like he has a mouth full of oatmeal.

1. Rich Waltz, Rick Rizzs...
Waltz is a Marlins broadcaster, who used to be the "C" team for the Mariners. Rizzs is a terrible homer for the M's.

19. Rizzs didn't do too well here in Detroit that's for sure
When he had the unenviable task of replacing Hall of Fame broadcaster Ernie Harwell for a year until they brought Ernie back after a major public outcry.

McCarver is the master of stating the obvious.

5. michael kaye on msg/yankees
i can't stand him. he sounds pompous and arrogant and like a know-it-all. he always phrases things so they involve himself.

blech. he stinks and i don't like him.

i like joe morgan's expertise, even though his speaking style is not so polished.

i grew up with braves baseball on tbs. those guys are remind me of being a kid.

7. Bob Costas
Unctious, smarmy, and MUCH too enamored of the fucking Yankees. He brings them up no matter how unrelated they are to the subject matter. Hosted a "Frasier" anniversary special once, and called it the "New York Yankees of sitcoms". :eyes:

Fuck off, Costas. It brings me great joy that your GOP team is Series winless in the 21st century.

8. Mom votes for John Sterling
and she's a major Yankee fan, too.

She reports that he'll misjudge a deep fly ball quite often, leading to: "Swung on, and it's a high fly ball to deep left! It is high... it is far... it is... caught." :dunce:

21. Oh come on, it was Curt Gowdy!
Live on Monday Night Baseball he covered Hank Aaron's breaking Babe Ruth's HR record and all he could come up with was "He's...he's...the all time home run leader now"

Just lame, I guess he didn't prepare much...

25. Milo Freakin' Hamilton for the Houston Astros
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 08:17 AM by Richardo
Astros homer and general incompetent. Has way overstayed his welcome, is descending fast into Harry Carey territory. (And I always think of Will Farrell's Harry Carey when I say this.)

He NEVER tells you who the Astros are playing: It's always 'they' and 'them'. He RARELY mentions the score (it's RADIO, Milo, we can't see the scoreboard) He makes up inane, stupid nicknames and uses them incessantly, to everyone's embarrassment but his own. He uses the first person plural, as if he's suited up and sitting in the dugout.

If it weren't for Alan Ashby, who as a former catcher actually knows how to play baseball, listening to Astros games would be intolerable.
