7. It was the North Pole as of the TV cartoon series in the '70s
Maybe subsequently somebody at DC noticed that there isn't any land at the North Pole. Or maybe Santa sued.:)

8. It's been in Antarctica since at least 1986.
That's when they revamped Superman continuity, and I know it's been at the South Pole since then. Probably before though... it's hard to keep track.
