I know I shouldn't have done it, but she drove me to it. I couldn't help myself, the urge to cheat was so great. Now I'm soooo depressed and I don't think I can bring myself to play another game of crib with her without thinking about cheating points from her!

these days when she clobbers you over the head with the board and breaks all the little pins off in your skull, you will cheat no more. Until then: Good luck.

Been there.

You don't do that. If you are married to someone and you love them then you do not get any strange. Know what I mean ?

Hey Chuckup, TN is correct, your conscience is clear. A major tenant of cribbage is taking the points that your opponent misses.

Dem's da rules....

Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 10:18 AM by La_Serpiente
Your wife didn't drive you to anything...you drove yourself.

If there is a problem in your relationship, you really need to talk to her and communicate about it. If it is irreconciable, then I reccomend that you two separate to cool off.

I also reccomend that you seek counseling alone and then go into counseling together.

My Dad has 2 maxims to live your life by.

1. "If you ain't cheating, you aint' trying."

2. "Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat."

Studies have shown that men cheat only slightly more than women. Dude, I'm sure she's been doing some pegging of her own...

31. Yes, some people go for the emotional crap side
without ever bothering to actually read what's being said by the person.

When I'm speaking to people, I would rather that they LISTEN to me fully than that they are able to offer "advice" or something else. Just HEAR me.

That means - READ THE WHOLE POSTS!

Woo hoo!!

20. Don't try to ease your conscience by telling her about it.
She probably has enough trouble putting up with your lousy habits without adding to her misery. If you keep cheating, let her have the pleasure of finding it out on her own. Intrigue is fun isn't it? Why don't you find a hobby instead of concentrating on your sorry little dick.

That is one of the sayings I am collecting to teach our children when we have some.

"Trying is the first step towards failure" is another one.

Next time you sit down to a game of cribbage or a few hands of Yahtzee, throw the game her way a little just to even the score.

32. From a psuedo-professional ethics person, let me say this:
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 03:37 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I can only say this: Hey, if she ain't bothering to count your score, too, then she deserves to be had with a few extra points thrown your way.

I don't think of it as you cheating, I think of it as her not paying enough attention to what's happening. One's opponent's score is also one's duty. Whenever she finds out, she will have experienceda tremendous learning moment, and will never be had that way again.

Sometimes you only learn when you put your hand on the burner.

Good for you!!
