Please... tell me more. I'm afraid my guesses are WAY off base.
2. It's a holiday in October where you have to buy flowers and a
card for your loved one. I think Hallmark made it up. We didn't have it in Wisconsin, and then we moved here to Michigan and there it was. A lot of times it falls on Homecoming dance days for high schools. The description you had of Valentine's Day without the Christianity is pretty fitting. I think it's basically to boost card shop and flower shop sales. I thought it would be interesting to see how many people had never even heard of it....
