From Dusk Til Dawn - Tarantino
Soooo --- finally added the From Dusk til Dawn trilogy to the "Quention Tarantino" portion of my dvd collection -

I love love love love LOVE the first one! Totally NOT what I expected - although if pressed I'd be unable to tell you what I was expecting.

The second one I almost watched all of - fell asleep before the end, so will be watching the last of it tonight. I enjoyed it, but I think the first one was much better.

The third one, I will probably start watching tonight after finishing the end of part 2 - and I'm sure I'll like it!

Any other From Dusk Til Dawn fans out there?

4. I liked From Dusk Til Dawn
I only saw the first one… didn't even know there was third one.

but my favorite Tarantino-scripted movie is True Romance.

I met him about 2.5 years ago at a pizza place (in NYC) I used to eat regularly. I was pretty sure it was Tarantino when I first saw him, but wasn't completely sure til he whipped out the "Bad Ass Mother Fucker" wallet that Sam Jackson used in Pulp Fiction… which I knew was QT's actual wallet.

anyway, after I saw the wallet I started talking to him, and asked what he was working on… which turned out to be Kill Bill, though he only generally described it and never mentioned the title.

he was very nice, and didn't seem to mind talking to me while he was waiting for his pizza to be ready (to go).

:)

9. I like True Romance too -

I have pretty much every movie Tarantino's been associated with, from the ones everyone knows (res dogs, pulp fiction) to things like Killing Zoe.

If there's something I'm missing let me know!

Other movies not associated with him (but have a similar "feel") that I love -

Freeway
2 Days in the Valley

and I can't remember the names of the others and don't want to run upstairs to check.

I HIGHLY recommend Freeway though - Keifer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon are in it.

11. killing zoe is a great film
I remember seeing it with my girlfriend when it first came out. it was only playing at one theater in NYC (the Angelika) and all the showings were selling out… luckily I had a friend who worked there and was able to get me tickets.

I don't know if it ever played in theaters nationwide, but it's definitely developed a "cult" following since the video release.

10. I didn't care for Dusk til Dawn as much as other movies he's done..
I liked Pulp Fiction the first couple of times I saw it, but for some reason wasn't in the right frame of mind to appreciate it the third time. Dusk was just too slimy/gory, have to admit, I fast forwarded through a lot of it.

Would like to see Kill Bill, should be interesting! That was quite nifty that you met him in a pizza place.

:bounce:

12. I agree with you about "True Romance being his best writing...
I really like that movie (and I hate Tony Scott and Christian "Spotty" Slater!)
