Something is defintely wrong here
All my life I was organized, had a clean neat house, loved cooking and bought the best of clothes. Now all I am concerned is with the computer. I've change, am having a difficult time with the change. I'm not depressed, but content yet uncomfortable. I retired a year ago although some of the changes were occuring before retirement. I think it was after the kids moved out. I enjoy a clean house, enjoy homemade food, but there is tomorrow. I feel like a rebel, finally doing what I want to do but also feel like a slob.

2. join the club! not retired, but feel like it...kids grown, and I finally
remarried a wonderful guy. instead of working a manic management job, i work 6-7 hours a day, weekends and holidays off (though no holiday pay), and can ask off when I like.
Ah, to LIVE instead of to survive! (was a single parent 20 yrs)

I say, just enjoy it! Eventually you'll get bored with the new changes and then find some balance.

5. You are all right
Quite possibly my priorities have changed, there is no longer the pressure of parenting and another thought is I did not grow up with the internet(s) so I am having fun with my computer. When I mentioned to my daughter I felt guilty buying a new computer, she laughed and said "Mom, that is what you enjoy, go for it." I am amazed with the computer and where it takes me. There is so much out there and so much to do. Guess, I am one person who is totally engulfed with the internet and totally amazed. At the same time surfing and reading, I can listen to almost any radio station at the same time. What the hell, I've missed so much in my lifetime, now it is catch up time for me. Yes, I am able to keep up with the latest info and opinions thanks to DU.

7. Actually visited another senior lady a few days ago
she said "my house is a mess" but I am living the life of a bachlorette? I know I didn't spell bach.... correctly but spell checker is not help here. She was totally cool about her mess, but felt the computer was a waste of her time. I'll take the computer over everything else.

8. I clean if
someone is coming to the house especially my children, cook extras when I do cook to send home with my children. Of course, my kitchen is usually clean as I don't like dirty dishes on the counters and my bathrooms are clean.

11. If you're happy and you know it clap your hands.
I'm 63 and retired since 1998.
My computer is a lot bigger part of my life than it used to be.
The "new" has finally worn off, and I'm not on it as much as I used to be.
I still have "real" friends that I see a lot.
I think you're OK.

12. Yes, I do have friends and a couple of groups that I am involved.
I guess I'm still in the wind up mode. When I was working (for the last 23 years) kept me wound constantly.... now I am not wound up each day. That could be the problem.

My dogs love me being home, when I go out my one cockerspaniel barks and barks at me when I come home. She is giving me heck for leaving her I guess. Bossy little snit!
