DU Denver SNOW ALERT check in............
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 12:11 PM by serryjw
Is everyone OK? How bad is the snow by you?
I'm in Cap Hill and it looks like a winter wonderland. It is still coming down hard thou visibility is not bad. The news said it will not stop until midnight! If you do go to work tomorrow, be careful!

5 minutes ago King Soopers delivered my groceries...WOW! Can't beleive they did that.

1. Lakewood - land of overhead powerlines
The snow is a-swirling. All the windows have snow stuck in the screens. I'm glad we never got rid of the old fashhioened wall furnace in the living room. It doesn't have a thermostat - just an adjustment knob. So, if the power goes out, we'll still have some heat along with hot water from the gas water heater. It's day like this I love a smallish house.

3. In the Glendale area

Still have all my utilities. My convertible's roof got a bit compressed from the hundreds of pounds of snow on top, but other than that everything's fine. My dogs are making me laugh. They run and hop in the snow and end up getting completely buried in the drifts. :D

Edit: It looks like Denver's getting it worse than Boulder. We already have 18", and it's nowhere near over.

4. Northern Colorado here..
we have white out conditions... can't even see the houses next door at times. This sucks!!! I wanted to go see the movie Sahara today and now I'm trapped inside. The power keeps flickering on and off. I want winter to be done now!!!

5. I just looked at radar
since we in NE Kansas are expecting severe weather and it looks like you all are getting pounded! I hope you are OK but then I know you are veterans of big snow. I heard it could be a really big snow so be careful out there.

6. SE Denver here
I just had to go out to the back yard and shovel a path for the dogs. They just looked at me like I'm crazy.

I'm not starting to shovel the walks and driveway until this wind stops.

It's cozy and warm inside, but I'm watching the neighbor's trees behind me to see how much they lay down on the phone and power lines. Crossing my fingers that I keep my power....I don't really care about the phone lines.

7. Aurora
it doesn't look that bad, but I haven't been out yet. Doesn't seem nearly as snowy as two years ago, but I suppose if it does keep snowing till Tuesday, it might end up that way. I live on a main street; it's plowed and traffic is moving, though not much traffic out.

8. I-25 is closed between Colorado Springs and Greenland.
I'm guessing Castle Rock is bad ,as well. The interstate is also closed from New Mexico to Pueblo. It seems to be melting on the streets here. It's been snowing all day in Colorado Springs, but I don't know how much we have in total. We have about eight inches of wet, heavy snow on the patio table.

9. Holy Crap!
How did I miss hearing about this? I'm in Nebraska...it's 65 degrees. Guess that explains my barometric pressure induced headache.

Good luck to you all!
