Polish triplets named after Pope

Parents of triplet boys born in Poland on Wednesday have named them after the late Pope John Paul II.

The boys, born in the southern town of Bytom, were named Jan, Pawel and Karol, the Polish versions of John, Paul and the Pope's first name, Karol.

The Pope was Karol Wojtyla - a priest and archbishop in his native Poland before he became Pope in 1978.

The triplets are said to be in good health and are expected to be released from hospital soon.
