Poll question: Ee-ther or aye-ther?
What's the proper pronunciation of "either?"

My girlfriend and I have been arguing about this for months.

they are both right, but that aye-ther is pretentious.

By the way, all you hear on TV these days is aye-ther. You never hear ee-ther.

But personally, I had to look up the right way to use aye-ther. I don't think most people know any better.

18. LOL, well, I've never seen the book.
From the sounds of it, it could either be a book for fifth graders or a coffee table book for yuppies.

2. Other
I actually use both pronunciations. It depends on where I use it in a sentence I think. If I use it in the middle of the sentence I say "eether" and if I start a sentence with the word I say "ayether".
