9. Foghat
As you'll have to type the name in every thread, I figure the shorter the band name the better.

Plus, it's a fun name for copycat threads, don't you think? :)

10. If you're going to go 70s, The Raspberries
If you want to spoof the Oasis-thumpers, Cactus World News would be good (short-lived U2 tagalongs of the 80s). If you're at all serious and want to do a good turn to folks that deserved greater attention, I dunno, 24-7 Spyz maybe. Or just make up somebody and castigate everyone for being so uncool never to have heard of them.

16. I figure any band that was good enough to get a Saturday morning
kid's show has to be an EXCELLENT band! Better than the Beatles! Better than Oasis, even!

19. What if a younger member downloads one band out of curiosity?
What do you want them to think of you, and, more importantly, of Rock?

Teach the young, my friend, you have to teach the young.

21. Dr. Hook
We can get into deep philosophical discussions about just how tongue-in-cheek "Sylvia's Mother" really was, whether recording "Cover of the Rolling Stone" to get on the cover of the Rolling Stone was purely crass or a stroke of genius, and what psychological factors caused the group to go disco and record "Sexy Eyes" and "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman."

I'm enjoying this already. :-)

23. A hissy fit is a sexist insult
Like calling a grown man a bitch, though not as severe. Anyone can have a conniption fit. Also, a hissy fit is usually minor, whereas a full-on conniption fit is a major fit. What the git is about doesn't necessarily matter. At least that's how we used it in the part of Texas where I grew up.
