Regarding Ann Coulter

I am very fearful of Ann.

I know that she has said she recommends dealing with liberals with a baseball bat. Then at a recent function she invited a group of people to physically assault another person. I worry that because of Ann's words I could be in danger. Its a terribly fearful enivronment that Ann has created.

overestimate her appeal.

She has no regular outlet to express her hate - she's been fired from every real job she's had.

She appeals to people who are already rabid right-wingers. She's not changing any minds. In fact, I believe she does far more harm to her cause than good.

while she probably ultimately harms her cause (whatever that is besides getting personal publicity) she does help legitimize the darker thoughts of the wingnuts just by having a forum and publicly saying what they are thinking.

She's a clown. After failing as a lawyer, journalist, and whatever else she tried, she found her calling as a snarky rightwing comedian.

but most who aren't partisans and true independent types don't really see or know of her. if they did then she would turn off a lot of people.

i personally don't take her seriously. i think she is trying to get a right wing man to marry her by trying to appeal to them with some of the anti liberal things she says but it doesn't seem to be working.
