11. I pissed one of those off last week...

I work in a rich town and I stopped at the Starbucks. Some woman in a fucking Hummer H1, yeah the really huge military-style one, had completely blocked me in. I was standing by my car & when she came out of Starbucks, I said, "so...um...you planning to drive to Iraq in that thing." Her response was, "I'll drive what I want to drive" and she drove off.

Ugh.

I posted this hoping to get response to my other, far more tame thread. You post something you think is reasonable, and people get upset and accuse you of laying flame bait. And when something is deliberately inflammatory--this thread, for the purpose of drawing attention to a reasonable one--no one pays attention. Perhaps because it is just too obvious.

The makers are appealing to the bigger is better philosophy of marketing and it works in the US.

People want bigger burgers, bigger trucks, bigger guns, bigger big gulps, bigger wangs, bigger breasts, bigger lips, and bigger TV's.

It makes you feel powerful and like you are getting something for your money.
