Photoshop help please! Quick!
I need to add a caption to a jpg, covering over the original text that is there.

So I draw a textbix but I can still see the underlying text. How do I cover it over? Do I make my whole new text box opaque? I have tried and can't figure it out. Please help!

1. Make a new layer and use the paintbrush tool maybe?
Probably your best bet.

Draw a marquee box (the square select tool), and go to Edit->Fill. There you can fill it with your foreground or background color. Put your text over that.
