Guarding the U.S./Kiribati border
pronounced "ki-ri-BAHSS", it is a group of coral atolls some 1200 miles from Hawai'i, thus making it our nearest neighbor (California, by contrast, is 2400 miles away!) Population is around 20,000; no word on whether it was part of Bush**'s "Coalition of the Killing", er, "Willing".

This is serious! There's an i-Kiribati in the very next cubicle right now! He must be stopped before he helps any more of our consumers with their finances!!

:sarcasm:

1. Ever read "Sex Lives of Cannibals"?
It's a great book by a guy who spent a year in Kiribati. :D

2. Former Gilbert Islands
"Kiribati" or Ki-ri-BAHSS is how you say "Gilberts" in Gilbertese. Same with Kirimati or Ki-ri-MAHSS the former Christmas Island.
