What will get GD's undies in a twist next week?!?!
Two weeks ago (and further back): "Michael Schiavo is killing his wife!" / "Terri Schiavo's parents are fundie nutbags!"

Last week: "RIP John Paul II." / "John Paul II was a douchebag!"

This week: "Mexicans are invading!" / "No, they're not, and you are xenophobic."

Come on, DU. We need a topic we can blow out of proportion and beat to death next week! What will it be?!:7

I swear I've been noticing this occurrence of "tag-teaming" Where somebody will pick apart something that you say in a post and then someone else will come along and join them, definitely a coordinated effort. Sounds paranoid, but I noticed it in one thread and then did a search for other threads where the two posters posted and I started seeing this pattern. Not just one or two people either, several different posters in several different threads. I guess that's how some people get their jollies, that or they were freepers.

by several people because some of us (the same ones) always end up on the pope threads picking up for the people critical of the pope. I SWEAR we don't have meetups to plan this :eyes:

10. That is paranoia
Here is the explanation I gave to another poster who said the same thing:

"But I don't think most people travel in packs. People are attracted to certain threads (I post in almost every cat thread in the Lounge) and you tend to see them on threads of the same subject over and over again. If there's a thread on women's rights, I can guarantee you'll see MandateMyAss, prolesunited, nothingshocksmeanymore, Misunderestimator, and myself on those threads. If there's a thread about gay rights and religion, jonnyblitz will most definitely be there."

There are certain subjects I'm attracted too. Oohing and aahhhing over cute baby/kitty/puppy pics in the Lounge is just one of them.

14. Yeah, you are probably right
Edited on Wed Apr-06-05 09:37 PM by Goathead
I just thought it suspect that you would see the same two people bouncing off one another in several different posts. There is sometimes a methodology about it that is very strange. One thing that I've noticed is that one of the poster's will inevitably be someone that articulates themselves' very well, while the second poster stokes the fire with one or two word posts like: "Good one!" and crap like that. You're right though, I'm probably reading into it something that isn't there.

15. Kinda like me
except I put all the kitty threads on ignore because if I see another cat picture I'm going to put my fist through my $1500 laptop's screen. I'm attracted to the humor threads more--you know, that whole creative license thing.

7. The West Wing Season Finale, or Pickle's outfit at the Pope's Funeral
In all seriousness, I enjoy a good flamer about women's rights. It brings the misogynists out of the woodwork.
