7. which store in Chicago?? I am suddenly considering buying ...
in person. I though of online but now I must consider options. Is there only one store, and if so, where is it and what is the number. Might be worth a trip for something interesting to do.

8. It's Apple's own retail outlet
on Michigan Avenue at Huron St. All the toys are set up for you to play with, there's an open wireless network, and there are cute young guys eagerly waiting to help a poor hapless geek grrrl like me.

10. Not if the Milwaukee store is any indication.
Some hotties. Some...quite not hotties. Same as any store, really, except I like nerds and there's a greater proportion of them there than there are at, say, Sears.

15. Give them time!

They opened one in Tokyo last year, but I didn't get a chance to check it out on my September trip.

After all, Tokyo got a Disneyland before Paris did. :-)

BTW, there are TWO Apple stores in the Twin Cities, one at Southdale in Edina and the other at the (gag) Mall of America.

13. I'm sure it's corporate policy
You gotta be a major geek and seriously cute. Kind of a tough job description, but there's a lot of 'em.

My advice: Buy online. And shop all the Apple stores in your area first. Act stupid like you don't even know computers have to be plugged in. Sigh, heavily. (Girls have a major advantage, here, damn 'em! There's just something about girls/breasts/heavy sighs that turns men into zombies - go figure.)

Khash.

17. I must confess I have not found any hotties at the Apple stores
despite my frequent visits.

But they sure do wear a lot of paraphanalia.
