I'm sorry for my outbursts.
I have been looking for counseling and I did do intake and I hope it will be cheap. I just don't know how to change things. I don't know what I did that warranted what happened to me. I wish I could change it all, but I don't know how.

1. Counseling is a good thing
I've been there. Do it.

B-)

2. Counseling can be great
and if this counselor doesn't work, find another. But stick with it.

Things don't have to suck this much. You can change them.

3. Coloradodem, I second Floogeldy's comment about --

-- counseling being a good thing. A lot of therapists out there are pretty sharp folks, and if you have one of those, there's a good chance to gain insight.

From your posts, I'd say you have a hell of a lot to offer the planet, so tap whatever resources you have available and rely on them as supporting allies.

Also from your posts, it looks like some very excellent music gets played at your place.

PM me if you'd like, anytime. If I'm on the road for a few days, I will eventually check the DU boards.

4. You sound like me on the inside when I was 19 years old ...
I felt the same way you did ... and because of that I also recommend that you get some counseling . It will do your spirit good :) I wish you well :)

5. Counseling
As the others have said...go for it! If you don't connect with the first one, keep looking. You have to find the right person, and trust me, you'll know!

As for changing, start writing. You do it here. Print out some of your posts, an reread them. What would you change? What do you like or not like about what you wrote?

Just so you know, I have been unemployed for almost two years, as well. I have a master's in higher education, 10 years experience, and speak multiple languages. Still, nothing! I can't break into a new field because I don't have "experience," and I can't get work in my field because higher education has been downsized. But, everyday, I look. I look in odd places too. It is hard! It is degrading! And, it makes you feel unwanted! Keep your chin up, but when you are down, talk to someone.

If you need to, PM me!

6. Being optimistic doesn't help much, but it gives you something to do...
