Al Howard & The K23 Orchestra
If you guys like spoken word/jazz type stuff, you should check out Al Howard & The K23 Orchestra

I saw him play at a music festival over the summer and I'm taking another look at his lyrics. He's got some cool stuff!

Check out this song (preview/listen):
_________

I just got inspired through my radio wires

I'm sick of being sick and I'm tired of being tired

I want to be the gasoline and spark to start this fire

And burn down this machine until the point when it expires

The republicrat regime run by corporate cheats liars

And CEO sires who need their greed be retired

Chills traversed my spine when I heard this P.E. line

So if we're running out of time then I guess I'll have to sprint

With the blueprint in my mind to start a revolution

Derail the trains of thought with polluting contributions

And I will not be vague when criticizing this system

Which counters terrorism with a form of terrorism

Politicians are enlisting us in citizen submission

Government and businessmen, no visible division

The goal's to take control from a country and its people

As we're sold to the cold realization that we aren't equal

Minority misrepresentation radio stations

Increase the murder rate in our third world urban nation

The thug mentality is the prime prime time equation

Frustration in bloom within our concrete jungles

Build your greed to the sky like Icarus crumble

Buildings turn to rubble and empires to dust

Over the years We've all seen men of steel rust

For money we lust and in God we trust

On mics I bust race to spray this with haste

I pray this oasis of waste gets replaced

Moving at a pace that tomorrow we will face

I can taste the poison when I am breathing in

I feel the pain of my brethren living life in prison

Decision's made by henchmen our modern day lynchmen

Get locked away in the USA's biggest business

(while) Wealth is concentrated in the smallest percent

Minimum wage doesn't allow ends to meet

So some inner city men result to the cheat

Tobacco companies are targeting our teens

With the obscene dream of sculpting new nicotine fiends

And stack green I'm sick of these damn corporations

World trade organizations organized exploitation

Of inexpensive labor in malnourished nations

On the horizon I see a brewing disaster

A collision with force between a slave and a master

So what is the tactic to permeate the plastic

Cause these drastic times call for drastic measures

Not the comatose consumption of trivial treasures

Or the petty paralysis of plastic pleasures

I'm not a pessimist, but if its not now then never

I'm losing my patience as I wait for improvement

Everything is up to us to initiate this movement

The time is at hand to start making plans

Keep green lands from desolate desert sand

In a democracy we the people make demands

Take my hand divided we fall Unite and stand!
