Music lovers, who was your favorite Glam Rock group?
For me it was T-Rex.

Remember "Jeepster"?

"Bang a Gong"?

Marc Bolan rocked glam.

1. I love T-Rex "the Slider"
when I saw "the smiths" in concert in the "80's" they played this for canned music in between bands. I liked it as much as the live music.

2. Big Star
Well, not Glam technically- but songs like "Mod Lang" and "Don't Lie to Me" sound pretty glam.

I remember their band name, but I can't recall any of their work.
Did they look glam as well?

38. No- they did not look glam- but they were early 70's.
And had a T-Rex, Beatles or Cheap Trick kind of sound.

31. Got them in my library on cassette.
I've been looking to get ahold of a rarity called "Touch" by Touch, remember them-Touch from the late 1960's? But they weren't glam just weird freeform and jazzrock with very great lyrics imo.

20. No, their song was called "Little Willy"
North side , east side
Little Willy, Willy wears the crown, he's the king around town
Dancing, glancing
Willy drives them silly with his star shoe shimmy shuffle down
Way past one, and feeling allright
'Cos with little Willy round they can last all night
Hey down, stay down, stay down down

'Cos little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Up town, down town
Little Willy, Willy drives them wild with his run-around style
Inside, outside
Willy sends them silly with his star-shine shimmy shuffle smile
Mama done chase Willy down through the hall
But laugh, Willy laugh, he don't care at all
Hey down, stay down, stay down, down

'Cos little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't

Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

Their other big hits were "Ballroom Blitz" and "Fox On The Run" as well as that dumb song about love and oxygen that came out late in their career.

11. I think they're more New Romantic than Glam historically.
Glam was at the beginning of the 70's imo. But Bryan Ferry's musical career is highly respected here.:smoke:

26. Mott The Hoople became a glam band after Bowie got a hold of them
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 07:50 PM by Bush_Eats_Beef
...but it was the first post-Bowie album, "Mott," that's the killer...

:toast:

I got an idea
Go tell the superstar
All his hairs are turning grey
Star-spangled fear
As all the people disappear
The limelight fades away
Cos if you think you are a star
For so long they'll come from near and far
But you'll forget just who you are (yes you will)

You ain't the nazz
You're just a buzz
Some kinda temporary
