3. Poor Judd...
It's a shame that he won't keep, but it's summer and we're runnin' out of ice!

6. I love it, too. The greatest play ever transfered to film.
One of the greatest movies.

7. The colors are so brilliant--I guess it's been digitized
or something.

It's beautiful. (It was originally in color, as you know, but the colors are excellent now.)

9. Yes. Oops.
Well, between UNC winning, and my SO turning the clocks the wrong way by one hour, of course I screwed up the name of channel!

Whew!

Thanks Goddess!

15. Boo Hiss!
But hey, I'm in to Time Warner cable up to my eyeballs:

cable tv
Roadrunner internet
digital phone service (flat fee $34.00 all local and US calls)

19. Me too...
It sounds like the kind of station AMC used to be.....maybe better.

I think we're going to have to go satellite anyway. Comcast gives piss-poor service in our area.

11. Isn't it anti-working class?
Jud becomes the bad guy when at the beginning the older lady admits that she could not run the farm without him, but the working class ruffian has the audacity to think he can court the upper class girl. He loses to the preppy boy who kills him.

Plus, it ain't no Music Man or Wizard of Oz.

12. Oh, there's a plot? I just wait for songs and sing 'em loud!
And I thought it might be about cooperative farming: the cowman and the farmer should be friends!

14. sure the cow man and the farmer
after all they are both bosses, but the cow-hands and the farm-hands can never be friends with their owners.
Anyway, I will not diss the soundtrack, but soundtracks are available on CD and then it is not necessary to watch the dumb thing. But that's just me. I treat the rats as equals - which is right.

18. not if you identify with Jud
the rejected working man.
Underneath them two dirty shirts he always wore, there was a heart as big as all outdoors. Jud Fry loved his fellow man.
Only they scorned him, rejected him, provoked him, and then killed him.
It's a tragedy I tell ya. An insult to working men everywhere. They went further than they should have gone, but it does have a "cat-fight".

20. I remember going to see that movie when it first came out
at the Todd-AO theater in Denver. I thought it was simply fabulous at the time. I think I was 10 or something.
