So, does my new comforter match my handmade quilt or what?
I a single guy and a old one at that.
But, occasionally I think I actually know what I'm doing.
So, today it's so nice out I decide to go to the evil Linen & Things.
It's evil, because I can never get out of there without spending a couple of hundred dollars.

Anyway, the old ladies working at Linens & Things love me.

"You married?" one of them asked me.
I said no, of course.
"You should be" she said.
"I've been watching you, you've been here almost an hour, honey you are very patient"

"Well" I said.
"I need some some towels and stuff, and some new sheets and a comforter that matches a quilt I have that my Mom made me"

"That's so sweet" she replied.
"My daughter needs to meet someone like you"
"Oh yeah?" I said wondering what she looked like.
"Yeah, she's married to a real asshole" she said as she grabbed my elbow.
"He's so stupid he couldn't match a pair of socks if they were both white"

Anyway, new comforter and pillows. Underneath is a 600 count sheet set that I picked up on clearance that matches perfectly.

How did I do?

4. Wow, very nice
And the quilt is gorgeous. I'm a quilter myself but I'm bad about finishing them - I get one close to completion and get antsy to start on the next. I have several partially finished quilts. ~sigh~

7. A few things...
It looks great - you did well.

My mom has made a quilt that looks almost exactly like the one your mom made, including fabric choice. Very weird.

I love the brick walls.

Scary amount of cords plugged into that outlet.

Is that a waterbed?

8. Thank You, Thank You, I know....I rule.
Yes. It is indeed a water bed.
VERY comfortable.

The plugs look worse than they look.
There are actually only three items plugged into that outlet.

I live in a loft, so I have a limited number of outlets.
You want to see something scary, you should see what's behind the entertainment center!

My Mom, who is 73 makes the most amazing quilts.
I've had that one for about 6 years now.

9. I count nine pillows!
Whem I first moved into my apartment and got my new bed (graduating from a futon) I went a bought a comforter cover, 2 euro shams, 4 standard pillowcovers, 2 toss pillows - all matching.

Looked great the first night...just like yours does.

All those pillows lasted about a week.

ps. your mom made a beautiful quilt. Love the colors and the white stars.

10. TOO MANY PILLOWS!! But that's just me.
I hates decorative pillows. Hates 'em with a passion.

But, that little bit of irrelevant bullshit aside, LOOKS NICE!!

I think they match quite nicely, in an artistic kind of way. I applaud you for not going for the super obvious "they have to be exactly the same to be considered 'mathing'" artless route.

Good job!!

:yay:

13. 600 thread count sheets?
What luxury. You should sleep well.

Everything looks very coordinated, and your mother is a good quilt maker.
