Get well soon, Mr Young!
Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 08:48 PM by darkstar
Just getting around to cruising DU. Saw the thread in LBN but know there are lots of Neil Young fans that hang here.

I was still lounging in our bedroom this morning when my wife came in say "oh no," and in tears. She had only gotten to the headline, poor thing, and assumed the worst, I'm afraid (well founded, however, given the comments in LBN re: what a sudden devastating blow a brain anyeurism usually is.)

Anyhow, how my heart ached for a few minutes (after she finally blurted it out through tears) until I sat down at the computer to read the ultimately good news for myself.

Anyhow, here's hoping you mend soon, Neil, and that the thrasher gives you a wide berth for as many years as you need to finish up your work on this ball of clay.

1. Yes
I'm not ready to lose Neil yet. He is and was a very big influence in my songwriting and at this time, I don't want him gone..
"Rust Never Sleeps" is one of my all time favorite albums of all time.
Get well soon Neil......

2. From what I read, he should be making a full recovery
It supposedly wasn't as serious as it seems. If he hadn't gone into surgery though, then it would've been pretty bad

3. When I first heard it I thought the worst.
My mother's cousin died from a brain anyeurism a few years ago. She had a really bad headache, laid down to rest and never woke up.

At least they caught his in time. Not really to lose him yet!

5. He is fortunate to have had symptoms
and to have had the sense to have them checked out. Most people never have a symptom until the thing bursts and kills them.

My sister was another fortunate one. She started having severe neck pain - she went to her doctor who told her she was fine. Luckily, she had an eye doctor appointment the following day and her exam showed a neurological problem. The eye doc sent her to a neurologist - she was in the OR by afternoon. She recovered fully, thank goodness.

My best wishes to Neil Young, whom I've always loved.
