The Headline Said "Rome Braces For Pilgrim Influx"
The story was about Rome preparing for all the people who are going to that city when the Pope dies.

It made me wonder. Why did they wait until now? Why didn't they go see him when he was alive?

1. There is so much for them to do....the state funeral...and the
selection of the new pope, with Cardinals and staffs arriving...a new Pope must be selected within 15 days. Its more of a case of people saying goodbye to John Paul II and hailing the arrival of the new Pope yet to be determined. The Vatican is not a very large area. I was watching last evening and the square was filled with tens of thousands late into the evening.

2. I thought the selection began fifteen days after the Pope's death...
