I am now officially unemployed.
Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 12:09 PM by Massacure
The paper I deliver got bought out by a larger paper, and my route has been eliminated. I handed by extra supplies in 20 minutes ago, and my permit is now in little itty bitty pieces at the end of the recyling bin at the office.

At least the weather was great for my last day of delivering.

I did apply to get a new kitchen job that starts paying $8.50 an hour. I hope I get it; It's damn good money for a 16 year old teenager. It'll be also fun to brag to my friends who earn maybe $5.50 to $5.75 at best.

2. Good luck to you, Massacure!
You sound like a fine young person who is determined to do well. I am sorry the world those of us "elders" worked so hard to make better for you now seems to be unraveling. I have a granddaughter about your age, and my own 2 kids are in their late 30s. I had really hoped their lives and futures would be better than mine at their ages, and up until 4 years ago I would have sworn they were. I have always told them, "Deal with things the way they are and don't go nuts thinking about they way you'd like them to be." I take my own advice, believe me, but I still have hope and am working hard to get the world back on track. Knowing you're out there, and a part of DU, makes me feel better about things.

Keep the faith!

4. Get your lifesaving license
Even better to check out the bikinis (if you're a male) and have the girls check you out while your friends are cleaning french fry machines.

5. This ought to send the freepers into a tizzy
A youngster (I'm closing in on 42) who posts to DU who works.

Unlike them, who are likely to be into self-satisfaction, if they're lucky.
