Dookus' fun fact for the day:
For 43 centuries, the Great Pyramid at Giza was the world's tallest man-made structure.

It was surprassed for the first time in 1889 when the Eiffel Tower was built.

3. Well dang, that's pretty cool.
But how do they know some intelligent species of penguin didn't build something taller, only to have it fall through a crack in the Antarctic ice and leave NO EVIDENCE AT ALL? Hmmm? ANSWER ME!!!!

8. Monseiur Eiffel
also designed a bridge in Rhode Island. It still stands but was a harrowing ride until it replacement appeared. The tour over that thing on icey grating was unforgettable. Through the absolute briliiance of the DOT here they replaced it with a bridge that. . .whoops. . .had 8 foot air pockets in their structural supports. It cost more to fill those air pockets than it cost to build the bloody things.

Viva Monseiur Eiffel !!!
