1. Simple
Because some women think that they are better at everything than men. No studies have proven that women are smarter than men or that men are smarter than women, mainly because it is impossible to prove either of these true. with half the population of the world being men, and half being women, it's impossible to generalize this way. But this doesn't stop them from saying that, now does it? :eyes:

5. I never said I was
I've met some very astute people of both sexes. I even happen to be one! :7

Let's face, this world takes all the brains it can get, both male and female.

7. God, not another women vs. men thread...
Who said women think they are smarter politically than men? I've never thought that nor have I ever said that.

I think both contribute equally to the political process. Just wish there were more women elected to governmental positons.

17. Yeah, that's the ticket: let's pit men against women, dems v dems....
generation x-ers versus baby boomers, religious believers versus agnostics, southerners versus northerners, libs versus moderates, greens versus dems, Kerry supporters vs. all other Dem supporters, etc., etc., etc.

Come on folks. This is ridiculous and self-destructive.

10. I think that with Ann,
I wouldn't classify her as a man or woman. It's an insult to both sexes. She just a republican.

13. How can you make that assertion?
Have you personally surveyed all the women with political opinions? Are you the Unidentified Pollster?

Besides, people are ALWAYS making generalizations.

And at least THAT generalization is true. :-)

19. why do more men than women (large margin, I'll bet)
listen to Rush Limbaugh and others like him? I do have to confess that I think women tend to look at the whole package, as it were, where men (at least the ones I'ved talked to) tend to pick one or two issues and go with that. Of course that does not apply to all men but I'd be willing to bet that it's true of the majority.

21. Oh how I'd love to see proof to support your statement
I don't agree. Most of the Dittoheads with whom I am acquainted are men. I don't know a single woman who listens.

20. Men like dumb
Not ALL men, of course. Certainly not the intellectually superior (and sexy) men of DU. But many men like their politicians dumb. Those smart boys like Clinton and Gore are just too intimidating. Plus, they equate dumbness with maleness. Which is really pathetic. I'm only partially joking. I really do know many men who are suspicious of smart people. They think George Bush is a "man's man". And that's a manufactured image of him in his jeans with his dogs on the ranch. They like his "plain spokenness"...which is really just stupidity. Clinton scared the hell out of those guys. He knows too much about too much. Same for Gore.
