An interview in Heaven with John Lennon
Mr. Lennon, what do you think of Oasis?
John Lennon: Oh, they are a good band, but I always felt that they were ripping off the Beatles. "Morning Glory" was a good album, but it's no Sgt. Peppers. It's no White Album. It's no Abbey Road. And another thing, I am amazed about how long it takes a band to make an album these days. Back when I was in The Beatles, we were releasing at least one album a year. I don't want to be conceited, but time speaks for these albums. I have to give much credit to Paul, George and Ringo for the greatness of these works. I'm not arrogant, but I am very proud of our work in The Beatles.
Mr. Lennon, what is your opinion of Noel Gallagher and what he said about not being you?
Lennon: I'm not Noel Gallagher. <laughs> I admire what he has done, but the idea that he and Oasis could be better than The Beatles is about as funny as The Beatles doing a cover of an Oasis song. :P
