Pictures of Tsunami like waves

These were taken at South Point, Hawai'i about a week before I left the Big Island. It is the southern most spot in the United States and the place were ancient Polynesians first set foot in the islands. The cliffs in the foreground are about 60ft. This was a particularly bad storm with enormous swells pounding the cliffs at South Point. It is usually calm here and is a good place to cliff jump, sometimes in the winter the storm patterns switch and we get what is called Kona storms. The ancient Hawai'ians believed it was one of the spots from where the soul departed to enter "Po" the afterlife or literally "the darkness"

And I know I've yet to see even halfway big surf.

2. This was the biggest I'd ever seen.

Those waves were rollin' in at least 35 ft. if not higher.

Yes -- Po -- Oahu also has a "jumping off" place.

I like the Hawaiian's story of the after life far better than the western version.
