What is the best show on television right now?
I feel like watching a television show. I don't have HBO or Showtime. I would like to be entertained by people who are working because people want to sell me things.

Also, perhaps we could guide Bouncy and fam toward some television that does not make her feel dumber. :)

9. Gotta go with "Deadwood" too.
I'm not big on getting hooked into any series, but one night while surfing the pay stations, I ran across it.

Now I'm front and center every Sunday night. :)

15. It's fantastic.
They just replayed the entire first season a couple of weeks ago. I would suggest renting it and watching from the beginning. You don't even have to like westerns to like this show but if you do it's a bonus. The most realistic western ever. HBO does nothing half assed.

17. Might as well go rent the first season now
Because once you see an episode, you'll regret not having caught it earlier.

46. Give it a try. The writing is absolutely top-notch.
It's also one of the more foul-mouthed shows you'll ever see -- but it's all in context, and makes sense for the era. The dialog is in a higher, more formal manner of speech that is also of another time.

HBO re-runs it several times each week, so it shouldn't be too difficult to catch up with it.

43. As I say below, I just watched an ep of Bonanza....
Edited on Wed Mar-30-05 09:53 PM by tjdee
watched hoping to see Michael Landon, but it was an ep he wasn't in. I don't like westerns, but the Bonanza ep I watched all the way through has me rethinking that. Too bad I can't catch Deadwood, wonder if I could dig a western or two.

Just added Deadwood to my queue on Netflix. Thanks for the recommendation!

16. I'm afraid to watch the West Wing now.
I stopped watching some time ago, I'm feeling the loss of the show's creator...it's on right now actually, and I can't bring myself to tune in.

It's better though?

20. Ooh, never heard of Mythbusters.
One of the disadvantages of having a child like myself is that I never know where the remote is, and I have no idea what channel Discovery is.

What is this mythbusters? Do they bust...myths? What are some of the ones they've done in the past?

It's good to have a standby channel. Mine is TVLand. The other day I actually watched an entire episode of Bonanza, and I cannot stand western themed shows. Didn't hate it, either.

Not enough people watch it, but it's well-written and acted. The season finale (hopefully not the series finale) aired tonight at 8:00 PM EST.

Will keep it in mind, though!

I cannot believe I'm calling him that black guy....he was in Clueless, I made a point of finding out his name because he's adorable...and I totally forgot it. Anyway, I think they're both adorable yet I've not seen one episode of the show.
