What Do You Want Me To Bring You Back From Germany?
If I have room in my luggage I'll try to bring back whatever it is you want.

Hurry! Respond quickly... before I run out of room in my small suitcase!

Since the Bundestag switched to the G36 (AKA the "Toy Gun"), there have to be millions of G3s lying in half-forgotten depots all across western Germany.

Have a good time! Just returned from Paris and the weather had suddenly turned warm and spring was busting out all over...a huge change from a couple of weeks ago. So take at least one warm weather outfit. I only packed winter stuff and ended up having to buy some cooler clothing (yeah, how awful, having to shop in Paris, LOL)

He looked a little like Leonardo Dicaprio, very androgynous (which explains why I liked him)... He's probably married with kids now... I'm sure.

We were once mistaken as a gay couple in the village,, some rubes called us "fags" as they walked by, imagine that... they thought he was gay and I was a guy.

47. Marzipan in the shape of a pig. (good luck symbol)
Germans are pretty creative with marzipan and will form almost anything out of it, as I recall. The one that made the greatest impression (though didn't tempt me to buy) was the guy with the pfennig piece coming out of his backside. Apparently that was a good luck symbol, too.

Be certain to eat some Milka (not a typo) chocolate there. It comes in the lilac wrapper. Lecker!

55. Just a few things to remember:
I know it is somewhat tedious to battle with the bureaucracy, but ask for a "tax free" recipe for all things you buy to take with you. With the Euro as it is, those things have a tendency to add up.

http://www.zoll.de/english_version/b0_passenger_traffic/c0_holidays_germany/a0_tax_free_shopping/
Contrary to the last line in the document, my experience is that you'll be paid cash at the airport where you check-in.

-Don't be afraid of the Autobahn. The other drivers can smell fear.

-Train tickets are a lot cheaper if bought a few days in advance.

-Consider attending a Soccer match ;-)

- Have a lot of fun.

58. Spaetzle!

Spaetzle Literally translated from German as "little sparrow," spaetzle is a dish of tiny noodles or dumplings made with flour, eggs, water or milk, salt and sometimes nutmeg. The spaetzle dough can be firm enough to be rolled and cut into slivers or soft enough to be forced through a sieve, colander or spaetzle-maker with large holes. The small pieces of dough are usually boiled (poached) before being tossed with butter or added to soups or other dishes. In Germany, spaetzle is served as a side dish much like potatoes or rice, and is often accompanied by a sauce or gravy. The cooked spaetzle can also be pan-fried with a little butter and onions (usually a good left-over idea).
