My cousin's husband killed himself Monday...
I'm not saying this for sympathy...it was just really weird. It happened in Mustang, Oklahoma. Apparently he and his wife, my cousin, hadn't been getting along for a year. No one was expecting this. I guess so many people have been at my aunt's house that she wasn't able to call until today. This just threw me. And apparently no one has even paid attention. His death hasn't even been in the papers yet.
I didn't know the guy very well, but what we did know of him was that he was great with his neices and nephews and that he seemed like a happy go lucky guy. We had no idea they were having marital problems. We just didn't think they were affectionate, because some people aren't.
I'm still shocked.

3. wow, I'm really sorry
It's very sad when one is so consumed by hopelessness that that's where it ends. I hope your cousin gets the counseling and support she needs to cope with this.

10. Duckie, I'm giving you sympathy anyway. The horrific shock of suicide
reverberates through families forever, from those close to those far removed. It's the ultimate question mark. (MrG has never gotten over his father all the way) My heart goes out to you and your family.

Hugs,Laura

12. lost a friend a number of years ago
and none of us (friends, relatives) saw it coming. In retrospect some answers could be found - but in seeking them (which was natural) so many of us took on guilt (as in why DIDN'T I see that and d something different.) I echo NSMA - hope that your cousin seeks counseling as part of her healing. Best wishes in this time of grief to your family.
