But one I felt good about happened today.
On my way into the A&P to pick up a few things, I notice two guys standing behind a table at the exit. Oh goodie, I think. They want money. For What, I have No idea. But I Hate being solicited for anything, whether I'm in favor of it or not, on my way out of the market. It's that whole 'public guilt trip' thing.
So, on the way out, one guy says "Hi." Being polite (and a temporary idiot) I say "Hello." "Would you like to make a contribution?" I now notice the "War on Drugs" banner tacked to the literature-strewn table. It's some local young adult group (didn't notice the affiliation, I was moving) soliciting on their Spring Break. "Not to a war. Any war." "It's not a war, it's the war on drugs." Still moving, I call back, "It's a war on people."
I left them to chew on that one. Doubt I made any impact, though. But it felt good, anyhow.
