Food Combinations that should never ever be done
This is my morning routine. Before I go to work, I setup my juicer and I make a vegetable juice drink. I don't want too much sugar for the morning and veggies have less sugar than fruits. So this morning I had my favorite "Pick-me-upper" of Spinach, Broccoli, Parsley, Radish, Carrot & Beet juice. Usually I only use half a beet but the beet seemed to be near it's end so I used the whole beet.

Now that's a pretty good drink but I still grab more breakfast at work, usually around 9am - Milk & Total Bran Flakes.

Usually not a problem, cept today I got my breakfast from work early.

My stomach is just weirding out from the combination of the beet heavy juice mixing in there with the milk

bleeeech!!!

So folks - lesson learned - Beets & Milk do not mix.

What other food combinations are not recommended!!

1. I am not particularly fond of beets to begin with.
The rest of that juice sounds really good though.

Beets are on my short list of things I'll flip a coin over if it involves eating them or starvation.

7. Beets are actually very good for you
I actually like to eat beets, but only ones my mother makes. I'm not a big vegetable eater so I juice about 16oz of veggie juice in the morning and then chug the stuff down in about 5seconds flat. And believe me, these are not enjoyable drinks but at least I'm getting my vegetables in me

4. Many Traditional Chili Recipes Include Chocolate
It's a key ingredient in many Mexican dishes. I learned that from watching Rick Bayless on PBS.

9. Chocolate milkshake and coffee
Don't get me wrong. A little milk shake in coffee makes a really sweet creamy cup of coffee. And a little coffee in a milk shake makes a coffee flavored milk shake.

Just don't mix even parts coffee with even parts milk shake. It's just muddy glop.

This important safety tip brought to you by Ready4Change.

15. Pizza and baked beans
Absolutely disgusting. My grade school cafeteria always used to serve those two foods together. Every single pizza day, the side was baked beans.

Of course, the food itself wasn't that good to begin with, but that combo was particularly appalling.

I never understood why we always got punished with a glob of beans on pizza day.

It was supposed to be a happy time, dammit!!

21. Tea with both milk & lemon.
One restaurant I frequent always serves hot tea with a little basket of sweeteners, lemon wedges & tiny containers of cream. I can't seem to remember to not mix them. It's embarassing having to ask for another cup of tea because I turned mine to chunky curds. :P
