Poll question: How many Schiavo threads have YOU started?
It had to be asked. This includes Schiavo-anti-threads and Schiavo-meta-threads. (This one counts for me.) 'Fess up (or take pride) and check in, folks. After all, we can always do a Search and tally 'em.

1. Zero. Zip. Nada. None. Rien de tout.

Not sure how many I have hidden. Takes a while to count that many.

The real question is...how many original Schiavo threads have been started?

On edit. Time to go to bed, really screwed up the last sentence originally. :eyes: at myself.

4. Four or five, iirc.
One was in the lounge (anagrams) and one was in LBN (Mr Schindler now saying Terri mouthed "I want to live" - CNN, ymmv) and the others were in GD.

That's total.

I've seen some DUers post that many new Schiavo threads in an hour. Every thought that goes through their head, time for a new thread :spank:

6. None, I did start a thread in the lounge about the TVLAND awards
and the Smother brothers and it died a natural death after one attempt to keep it alive by a friendly DUer. Does that count?

7. 1, noting that Bush cut funds to help brain-injured soldiers
while signing legislation forcing a brain-dead woman to stay alive.
I don't know why the media hasn't pointed up this despicable hypocrisy. 60% of those wounded in Iraq have traumatic brain injuries.

It was an observation about the impact this has had in my town on local republicans.

Spank me, I'm guilty.. :)

9. None. Absolutely zilch. And, I don't read them either. This is the first
one I've even read, and you should be extremely flattered.

10. Zero, and to continue my streak I'll ask this question here.
Lately I've been wondering about what it would be like to have no brain. Am I correct in assuming the victim would have no hearing, no sight, no smell, no sense of touch, no senses at all? I mean, the optic nerve and inner ear don't have anything to connect to, it's like the wires have been snipped. If this is the case, I wonder if Terri even knows she's alive? Does she just exist in silent blackness? Most importantly, why would anyone (especially the religious) want to prolong that state?

12. Unconscious is unconscious.
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 01:17 AM by TahitiNut
We've all been unconscious. Beyond mere sleeping, I've also been unconscious on the operating table and unconscious due to an accident (and concussion). As we know, awareness and unconsciousness are mutually exclusive. When I had the concussion, I felt no pain - not until later when I was conscious. Without consciousness, there's no suffering. I regard PVS as unconsciousness.

15. None, but I posted on one, and got totally flamed.
I just said that I hate to see her die and that, if her family's committed to caring for her, they should be allowed to. Ouch! I have seen much more on this, since then, and understand why I was attacked. It seems like all the nut cases in the universe, anti-abortion, anti-gay, fundies, have gotten on board with this. So I understand why my fellow liberals feel as they do, since her supporters are so unpleasant, but I still feel very bad that this woman is dying.;(

20. Thank you. I just said that if her family is willing to care for her,
That should be their prerogative. I now know why I was flamed in my first time on DU, despite going on 10,000 posts, because I have seen the odious anti-abortion, anti-gay fundies pile on to this. I actually don't think that Terri, from what I have read, would like them. I understand why I was flamed, but I still believe as I do. I actually believe what George Bush* said, that where there's life, there's hope. But he is a hypocrite, advocating capital punishment. I do not.
