1. Followed the stations
every year for 10 years....then found out that the church was screwing with my mind.....(e.g. "Today we believe this, but we may not believe it tomorrow")

6. You know it only really counts if it was followed up by a visit to the
Principal's (in this case Sister Mary Margaret Concietta Forgetta) office. :hi:

7. Did not act in them, but sat through them
in Catholic school, during lent they would troop us into church and we would go through the Stations of The Cross, complete with incense. Got sick more than once, especially on hot days.

15. We lapsed Catholics affectionately refer to it as the Bataan Death March!
Stations had to be the most BORING part of being a young Catholic. Feast of St. Blaise was the weirdest.

16. that's the candles and the throat thing
right? (St. Blaise, that is)

This morning I got into singing exceprts from Pergolisi's "Stabat Mater", a piece I did with high school chorus back in the 60s. Such a cheery little ditty, "Stabat Mater dolorosa, juxta crucem lacrymosa, dum pendebat Filius."

(NB: Extremely secular high school in Manhattan, non-Jews definitely in the minority.)
