Do you consider yourself to be an intellectual?
In that intellectualism is the deduction of knowledge from reason, I would have to say "yes" for myself.

1. Absolutely and without question.
Curiously, I find that there is an inverse proportion between the amount of TV watched and the possession of intellectual proclivities.

4. not in the way described.
after all, leibniz and aquinas both deduced that one could prove the existence of God by reason alone.

is that the path of "intellectualism" you want to travel?

6. No
intellectual is too stuffy of a term. It's one of the things which hurt Adlai Stevenson in the 50's being called an "egghead". I like to think I'm open to different views and have a natural curiosity which makes me want to to seek more knowledge.

9. Not really a judgement one can pass on oneself
Its more an appelation applied to you by others. One can aspire to be intellectual but its accomplishment is difficult to judge for oneself.
