Frida Kahlo

Saw a documentary about her on PBS last night. What a fascinating and complex person she was. A surrealist before surrealism existed, a lover of life and her Mexico. I finally understand why so many people like her. You should check out the series.

The cremation scene gave me a nightmare.

Yeah... very interesting... and her relationship with Diego Rivera is fascinating... and both their final paintings were of watermelons. (he copied her)

5. I've been mesmerized by Kahlo's paintings for some time.

I think she was a genius. Yes, you should rent the movie "Frida". Good performances and artistic flair throughout.

I also like the ones she did that revolve around her streetcar accident. those are intense.

8. There's a social spot here in Tampa

called Viva la Frida (sp) that's dedicated to her. Very cool place. Good food, atmosphere, art, band venue.

I am so in love with her. I might name a future kid after her, Kahlo works for a boy or a girl.

I wish I had done half of what she had by my age. Amazing person.
