12. I believe so
I think it has to do with where/how the seeds are? Let's find out:

fruit ( P ) Pronunciation Key (frt) n. pl. fruit or fruits

The ripened ovary or ovaries of a seed-bearing plant, together with accessory parts, containing the seeds and occurring in a wide variety of forms.
An edible, usually sweet and fleshy form of such a structure.
A part or an amount of such a plant product, served as food: fruit for dessert.
The fertile, often spore-bearing structure of a plant that does not bear seeds.
A plant crop or product: the fruits of the earth.
Result; outcome: the fruit of their labor.
Offspring; progeny.
A fruity aroma or flavor in a wine.
Offensive Slang. Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man.

veg·e·ta·ble ( P ) Pronunciation Key (vjt-bl, vj-t-)n.

A plant cultivated for an edible part, such as the root of the beet, the leaf of spinach, or the flower buds of broccoli or cauliflower.
The edible part of such a plant.
A member of the vegetable kingdom; a plant.
Offensive Slang. One who is severely impaired mentally and physically, as by brain injury or disease.
One who is regarded as dull, passive, or unresponsive.

So, that's about clear as mud :)

14. Technically A Fruit. But, I Think Of It As A Veggie
And, i'm sicilian, so my word on the subject is law! Sicilians are genetically incapable of not eating tomatoes. It's just impossible. Put one in front of me. It won't last long!

they ruled on this in the late 1800's, when vegetables were subject to import tarrifs, but fruits were not.
