Greetings from Prague--I'm here, my luggage ain't!
They say it will arrive tomorrow. I had to run between terminals at JFK and barely made the flight. I really need a new pair of clothes to change into.

Beautiful, warm and sunny day here--it's a surprise!

P.S. Terri Schiavo is big news here, too. My czech isn't good enough to figure out if she's news here because of the issue, or the fact that the US government is being a major asshole over this!

1. That happened to me in London year before last.
It seems our Dept of Homefries Security needed to take a closer look at my stuff.
It happened to me 2 weeks ago on a trip to Italy too. This time the neglected to replace everything in my bag . Wonder if I fit a profile.

4. First time it happened to me!
There were about 20 people who didn't get their stuff--I made them give me some money to buy new stuff! They were more than willing once you ask, but they didn't volunteer any compensation!

2. Glad you arrived safely!
What computer cafe are you at? ;)

Luckily, Prague can be a cheap place to shop!

7. LOL
Nice! Prague's got several really cheap internet cafes, if you want to be online and not get booted, just in case you didn't already know that. Enjoy your travels, cool that you can get on and say 'hi'!

3. Drink a beer for me!
I love the Old Town Square with the amazing clock tower. There are some nice cafes there. What a wonderful city. Have you strolled over the Charles Bridge yet? Have fun!

6. It'll have to be a soda today--beer tomorrow...
I'd fall asleep with some pivo in me!

Ate in Mala Strana, took a nap. Will go over the bridge in the dark! Sometimes that's the bets time to do that.

8. Relax and have a beer...
that's what the Czechs do. Just don't let anyone talk you into Slivovitz, or whatever that plum piss is. They like to buy you one just to see you gasp at it. They think it's funny, and the prize you get for choking it down is another one.

Not at all unusual for luggage not to make it when the connection is so tight. Take your time shopping for new duds-- Prague is the best walking city on earth. Just be prepared for the shock if they haven't torn down that Russian opera house yet-- it's probably the most painfully ugly building on earth. Soviet architecture at its most... something.

9. Prague-the one city I'd like to see before I die
I've had dreams about it, I think I lived there in a past life. Mostly, I want to see 1. The astronomical clock, 2. D'Vorak's grave, 3. the bridge with all the statues on it, and 4. The castle and other old buildings. I've heard that Prague was spared from WWII bombing and all the old buildings are intact.

Have fun and take lots of pictures!

10. Prague
Great city - I second the clock tower and Charles Bridge. Also, the cathedral and palace on top of the hill are neat - from the castle, walk down the back way if you can - there are a number of old (400-500 years old) houses that are still being lived in. Enjoy the beer and the views! Oh and don't forget to see the old Jewish cemetary - it's very interesting too.

12. Sorry about your luggage...
...but, DAMN, I'm jealous!!!

I love Prague. Fortunately, I have friends there so when I visit, the language barrier isn't so bad. Are you going to Kutna Hora?

I usually drive to Prague from Berlin - it's only five hours and it's a wonderful drive. Especially when you get close to the city and start seeing massive fields of opium poppies. Strictly for the bread, of course.
