Bank worker crushed by 450kg cash trolley

By Luke David, Evening Standard
24 March 2005

A bank worker is in intensive care today after she became trapped in a lift under nearly half a tonne of cash.

Firefighters had to free the woman from the elevator at a branch of Barclays Bank in south London.

The woman, in her thirties, was trapped in agony under the 450kg trolley inside the lift when it collapsed and became stuck between the bank's ground floor and the basement.

She lay for more than two hours before being rescued but was eventually taken to hospital after the drama at the bank in Streatham High Road. Part of the road was sealed off during the rush hour to give access to emergency service vehicles.

1. The 'drama' at the bank...
Hilarious!

Wouldn't you love to read the accident report?

Seriously, I'm glad she's OK.
