So whats your favorite Queen album or song?
Well anoher thread was posted a little bit ago by Revolutionary Acts stating her love for Queen. Well it got me in the urge to listen to some and inspired me to start this thread. Mine would have to be for various reasons, one which was it was the first Queen album I ever listened to and I was introduced to it by a friend who is no longer alive "A Kind of Magic."

And no, that doesn't mean I'm an old queen. :P

My fave album of theirs has to be "A Night at the Opera".

9. Or favourite Queen album even
A toss-up between Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack. Song "The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke" from Queen II inspired by the painting by Richard Dadd. A classic!

26. Yes... and found the recording on the second soundtrack....
It sounds much better on the second soundtrack than it did in the film. (It's not on the first soundtrack.)

I was stunned at how well they handled it.

30. I read that he was so ill by the time they were laying down the vocals...
...that he had to rest literally hours between verses/takes. And that the band and producers and engineers were all a part of that process makes it all the more incredible.

Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 10:09 PM by Revolutionary_Acts04
that's like 3 CDs. :)

But that's the cheap way out, so I won't name a favorite album.

And favorite song? Geez... The Miracle is great, Radio Ga Ga is a fun song. Bohemian Rhapsody, is so amazing, it's really like 10 different songs in one. I love Don't Stop Me Now. Ack! This is hard! x(

Edit: I think my favorite song might be Mustapha. :D

20. Album: Sheer Heart Attack
That album rocked, from beginning to end.

Song: (Hard choice) Here are some favorites:
Stone Cold Crazy
The Prophet Song
Tie Your Mother Down
Good, Old-Fashioned Lover Boy
Somebody to Love

I have loved them since '74 and got teased during my high school years for still liking them. I felt a little let down when they started using synths during the 80's but got over it.

23. Everything before The Game was really good.
But my favorite Queen song of all time is Sheer Heart Attack.
And I absolutely loved My Melancholy Blues.

Truth be told, News of the World and Jazz in their entirety just rock.

It broke my heart when they went disco/snyth.

29. Innuendo
Recorded during Freddy's final days. At the time, he was so sick he could only devote half an hour a week to recording. The song kicks ass over and above anything in the 'We Will Rock You' period. For some haunting visuals, check out the videos for "I'm going slightly mad" and "Let me live:" a cadaverous Freddy rises from a coffin, just in case anyone didn't get the point.

If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky
If there's a point, if there's a reason to live or die
If there's an answer to the questions we feel bound to ask
Show yourself - destroy our fears - release your mask

Yes, we'll keep on trying
Hey! tread that fine line
Yeah we'll keep on smiling yeah
And whatever will be - will be

We'll just keep on trying
We'll just keep on trying
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Till the end of time

Freddy was the greatest. Without equal.
