The Sleep Number Bed - - Anyone have one? Ever tried it? Is it good?
It's almost time to replace the old rack, and I'm wondering what sort of unbiased opinions and experiences are availble here on DU. Please share your impressions. ;-)

1. OMFG! You have to get one!
I've had one for six years and have never slept better. You'll never have to buy another bed again. Trust me, there's nothing like being able to adjust your bed according to how you feel and need that night.

2. Well, that sounds like a "yes." I should have done this as a poll though.

5. Does it work if the power goes out?
doesn't it plug into the wall? What happens when there's no power?

6. Shouldn't matter if you already have it set.
It does rely on electricity, but if it was set the night before it will still be on that setting. It's essentially an adjustable air mattress with bells and whistles. So it stays full of air until it is released.

13. I also noticed they have an ad in Mother Earth News. I don't know if their
marketing plan is immoral, or just amoral.

12. It is absolutely the best...
We've had ours for 2 yrs now. It is the most comfortable bed I've ever had. I haven't woken up with a sore back since we bought one.

The one down side is the center--between the two air bladders. It may be because my husband has his side set at 80 and mine is at 40, but where the two sides meet is kinda obvious when we're both laying in bed. We can't really lay in the center, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, the bed is excellent and I highly recommend it. We have one of the higher end ones with the pillow top, but not the remote controller.

Good luck!
Debbi

15. Thanks. I wonder, do you set your number and that's it? Or have you
experimented over time to figure out what's right?
