Is the kid's family Arabic? If they're immigrants, they might not even know that the name is an insult here.

16. I don't think so ...
I know the last name is English and the mother's name is hyphenated and it's not Arabic (I've worked with the mother very briefly on school matters - mispronounced her last name in a phone message and was corrected via e-mail).

I strongly suspect that it was just some family name that they passed down to this poor child. He's going to have a hell of a time with it when he's older.

I kid you not that the guy goes by Dick. I thought he was just some legend when natives of the town told me about him but my dad met him and tried not to laugh as he introduced himself as "Dick Head."

I also went to school with a kid named Scott Scott (first and last names). His dad was an administrator so no one really picked on him much.

31.  Not making this up...

I swear this is true - I worked with the following:

1) first name - ROD, last name DICK - "Rod Dick", and unbelievably, his dad's name was, get ready for it, 'Harry Dick'. You can't make that up.

2) Boy Castro (WTF?)

3) I have a work associate named 'Madonna'

4) and I knew of a girl who's first name was 'Pam', last name 'Ham'. Pam Ham. Their parents should be flogged.
