Beatlists are like the SBVs trying to diminish John Kerry's titanicoes.
Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 12:44 PM by LoZoccolo
Me and some of my friends use this word, "titanico", to mean a personal accomplishment. Like I lost a few pounds on my diet in the past week; that's a titanico. I snuck up on the Metra train and got the name of the conductor who threw my brother off the train; that's a titanico.

It is a weak man who tries to diminish another's titanicoes through weak rumors and murmuring. That is what we saw this summer with the so-called self-proclaimed "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" when they were trying to diminish John Kerry's titanicoes of winning medals during the Viet Nam War. Does anyone really think these guys are heroic or something for this partisan sniping, or that they themselves deserve recognition of a titanico for it?

And yet we see the same sort of behaviour from the Beatlist propagandists and rock establishment traditionalists, attempts to diminish the titanicoes that Oasis has earned and are still earning. Oasis is the John Kerry of rock music, and the Beatlists are the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

2. I'm a software engineer.
Every bug I fix, and every feature I implement, is another titanico.

5. Titanicoes are always satisfying.
However, opportunities for scoring more of them have been sparse the past two days.

Why would I want to know his real name?

I don't know if I believe you on this one. does your fixation on oasis take the place of other relationships in your life that are lacking right now? are others jealous of the time you spend on your oasis fixation?

As I've said before, if you have twenty-five people in a room, nineteen are Oasis fans. I am in good company anywhere I go.

I should note that the skewed ratio of Beatlists on DU should tell you that this is an abnormal place.

29. "investing club and progressive social hour": herein lies your problem
Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 01:11 PM by StopTheMorans
it sounds like you have a much too defined and impersonal social life. a touch of the casual and unplanned in your social calendar may do your wonders. it appears that you are afraid of events that you cannot specifically quantify beforehand, which may explain your affinity for Oasis, as it is a known quantity. you are probably just afraid of new music; it's alright little buddy, DU will help you out

12. You're right, Oasis IS the John Kerry of rock.
Unattractive, unappealing, unexciting, unoriginal, and almost entirely without charm.

They can barely form a complete sentence and have done more cocaine than a Cuban buckfly. And the ones that are still alive look like drunk chimps.

33. Yes, it is indeed funny.
Both the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and the Beatlists. They make funny spectacles of themselves with their scorn of the titanicoes of others. John Kerry had more titanicoes than any other presidential candidate I can remember.

19. You have to put an apostrophe in your interpretation for it to make sense.
It is literally a different word, or two different words I should say.

"Titanico" is simply Italian for "huge".

"'The Rapists' for $100, Alex." "'The Penis Mightier' for $200." That kind of SNL humor is like five years old already.
