2. Some is paid for out of malpractice settlement money,
some is paid by Medicaid. That's my understanding of it.

But surely Congress could take up a collection. After all, so many of them are millionaires...

7. $250,000 limit on malpractice cases, as desired by Bush,
will put a time limit on similar lives in the future. Sort of ironic.

3. I don't know about anyone else.
But I sure as hell don't want to be forced to help pay for the health care of one lolling brain-dead vegetable.

Unless, of course, I'm also helping pay for the millions of people in this country who do not have health insurance or access to affordable health care. Then I wouldn't mind so much.

5. I think they just stepped into a big mess.........
imagine hundreds of people now beating down Congress's doors wanting redress. People in the same situation looking for medical help. They have set a precedent that will include lots of things already turned down by the courts.
