The Subtle Art of the Kick

We've all done it - kicked our own thread. Sometimes the thread is worthy of a kick. Sometimes we're not ready for it to die.

Some people are quite blatant about it *cough - Will Pitt* and others are sly.

What camp do you fall into? For those of you who choose to be subtle, explain your methods.

if our threads are worthy of being kicked, such will happen through the responses of others to our threads.

2. Hrm....

If it's something I don't want to die, I'll find something I haven't replied to yet, and reply to it. I don't do that often. If I'm looking for information, I'll kick blatantly at a couple times of day, so more people will see it. Other than that, I just respond to what I feel like, and hope things are interesting enough that people will reply.

or "Resurrection Kick" Going into obscurity and reviving a thread that is days old and about ready to be locked in the crypt of the DU archives because of it's age, saving it and putting it back up on high once again. How old do they have to be before they get locked anyway?
