Minnesota has a pretty active DU group-- we meet up every couple of months or so. One of the memorable ones for me last summer was when we met to see Fahrenheit 9/11 on opening day-- that was pretty cool.

borlis is my sister, Peace Crane is my daughter, and Steve Nash is god 13 is my nephew.

I only recently discovered I know RetroLounge. :hi: We actually go way back, although we haven't kept in touch all these years. My parents stood up to his parents' wedding, and his mom stood up to my parents' wedding. We were born in the same hospital and grew up in the same town, but in different school districts. I last saw him a few summers ago at my aunt and uncle's house, but didn't know he was a DUer. I discovered I knew him in real life on a thread about Chicago pizza.

Boy, does that bring back the memories. :D

I'll never forget shivering in the water during morning swimming lessons. I loved it when the temp hit 90 because the pool closed an hour later. It's been upgraded since we were kids and has water slides now.

Maybe you can splash me again the next time we're up visiting my aunt and uncle. ;-) My kids want to head up to the lake every summer when we come in to visit my dad and sisters. Unfortunately we don't have time to get up there every year. :-(

I passed the pool last summer. Niles has changed a lot through the years, but my old house still looks pretty much the same, right down to the awning over the front window. It still has the initial from my maiden name on it. It was embarrassing enough living there with that awning, but cripe, it's not even the initial of the new owner's last name. You'd think after living there for 15 years they would have changed it. :eyes:

from the outside, with the exception of all the trees have been cut down. The new owner cut down one maple and 7 black walnuts the week they moved in. 20 years later it still look oddly bare.

and then I heard they knocked down one wall in the livingroom, combining it with my old bedroom. So that is gone too!
