Maureen Dowd joins the Society for Cutting Up Men (S.C.U.M).

MoDo, March 20, 2005:

"Research published last week in the journal Nature reveals that women are genetically more complex than scientists ever imagined, while men remain the simple creatures they appear.

"'We poor men only have 45 chromosomes to do our work with because our 46th is the pathetic Y that has only a few genes which operate below the waist and above the knees,' Dr. Willard observed. 'In contrast, we now know that women have the full 46 chromosomes that they're getting work from and the 46th is a second X that is working at levels greater than we knew.'"

Valerie Solanas, S.C.U.M. Manifesto:

"Life in this society being, at best, an utter bore and no aspect of society being at all relevant to women, there remains to civic-minded, responsible, thrill-seeking females only to overthrow the government, eliminate the money system, institute complete automation and destroy the male sex."

"It is now technically feasible to reproduce without the aid of males (or, for that matter, females) and to produce only females. We must begin immediately to do so. Retaining the male has not even the dubious purpose of reproduction. The male is a biological accident: the Y (male) gene is an incomplete X (female) gene, that is, it has an incomplete set of chromosomes."

3. Did she get the toaster?
Or does S.C.U.M. offer something more appropriate, like a boning knife?

S.C.U.M. was so 20th century anyway; nowadays you get Ann Coulter wishing Timothy McVeigh had visited Dowd's employer.

4. ouch. She's gonna burn in hell for that remark.
She's either a VERY sick woman or she says all that shit just for publicity. Which is sick in and of itself.
