Let's see your desktops
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 12:31 AM by Maestro
Here is mine with a cool new app that allows all sorts of neat widgets on your desktop. It also takes up very little in cpu cycles.

It can be found at Konfabulator If you were already aware of this then I am just late to the party. If you weren't, try it out. It's free for a while then you must buy or remove it I think.

Another neat thing is that the picture viewer cycles. See below how the pic changed. Also, I have an iTunes companion widget that searches automatically for album art and displays based on the artist and song. Too cool!

and you're good to go :)
To use as an avatar, just leave it on your harddrive and go to options.. the DU software will retrieve it for you :)

10. I do this.
1) Hit the Prt Scrn key on the keyboard. This places the screenshot in your Windows Clipboard.

2) Then open up your photo manipulation program such as Photoshop, Ulead or whatever and under File or Edit find a command that will allow to view and edit the clipboard.

3) Resize the image to make it more web friendly.

4) Save it.

5) Upload to photo hosting site. I use Photobucket

6) Copy the img code and paste in your post.

except when using programs that can access it like Word or photo manipulation programs.

If you print screen then go into a program like that you will find a menu usually under File or Edit or even sometimes, Insert File, that will allow you to view it.

So just the same way you'd paste something that you'd cut already, you can paste the desktop image after you hit control & print screen.

77. Thanks.
I had a great full color pic of Quinn and was playing around with layers in Photoshop and that's what I wound up with :). I've been using it on my home and work computers for a while now.

I like it :).

Anderson Cooper fan, and I have the desktop to prove it. ;)

And YES, you really DO see the theme songs from various news shows on my desktop. I... collect them? I find it amusing.

That's a photo of the beach by my house. As you can see, I'm a bit icon-happy. But I use all those programs on a regular basis, so it's more convenient to have them there.

Taken when she went out to work in Kenya with a group from her church. Can't really post it without permission, but it's the cutest thing, the baby is utterly adorable.

That is a nice site. I love some of it, thanks. I only wish I had about 20 computers to set up all around me. I guess it is time I learned to get comfortable with all of this stuff so I can change my desktop regularly, too much wonderful art out there. Thanks.

118. I change the pic about every three weeks or so
And while my life and house might be a complete disaster sometimes, I take pride in having the cleanest desktop this side of the Mississippi. All my desktop icons are gathered and deposited into a desktop folder, which I then take and make a separate toolbar for. Keeps the clutter down, and I can arrange my tool bar icons according to purpose in programs.
